National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is Henry Ford Academy's chapter of this most respected and recognized organization. Throughout the year, NHS finds, creates, and engages in numerous community service activities both inside and outside of the school. Students with a minimum 3.5 career grade point average (GPA) will be invited to apply for admission in September and October of each school year.

Applicants are judged based on academics, behavior, extracurricular activities, and other tangible and intangible methods. Applicants should be ready to dedicate portions of their time to brainstorming new events and working with a team to implement them.

In the past, HFA's National Honor Society branch has maintained the memorial garden located on the Village Campus, worked with numerous groups including Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, and been recognized for their efforts by multiple organizations including Gleaners, Dearborn Fire Department, and Ford Motor Company.

Serving one's community and being a responsible member of it is a significant portion of this group's responsibilities. The expectations are thus very high for students to be admitted to this most prestigious of organizations.
